Taper Bore Pulleys
The RPM of the supercharger is what determines the boost created in the
MINI Cooper S. Reducing the size of the supercharger pulley, increases
the blower RPM which increases the boost. The reduction size on the
pulley increases the blower RPM by the same amount. This increases boost
from the factory 10.5 PSI to 12.5 PSI with the 15% reduction pulley. We
have experienced up to 12 HP increases, with torque improvement by as
much as 14ft. lb. The impressive torque increase is what translates into
some incredible acceleration. One of the main advantages of going with
the 15%+ pulley over the stock pulley is that you are lowering the RPM
where boost occurs which shifts your power band lower in the RPM range.

Pulley Removal Tool
Supercharger pulley removal tool is specifically designed to remove the
factory S/C pulley in the confined space of the 02-06 Cooper "S". The
compact design allows for easy pulley removal without engine removal.
Due to the factory pulley being a press fit a pulley a removal tool is
required to avoid damage to the internal components of the supercharger.
In order to access the pulley removal of the inner right plastic fender
liner and loosening the right engine mount is required. This allows the
engine to be lifted approximately 3 inches. This 3 inch lift allows
access to the pulley. Also recommended is purchasing the serpentine belt tensioner tool for quick removal and installation of the drive belt.
